The Terwa End Coupler (TEC); a steel disc with internal thread allows for shorter rebar while reaching the same anchoring length. The steel disc is supplied with a threaded hole which can be fitted onto a TSE or PSA-PSC anchor and has the following advantages:
- Minimize the length of the rebar and reduce the congestion inside complex rebar cages
- Eliminate the hooks and bends
- Fast and simple installation
- Simplifies the structural design
TEC couplers meets the ACI 318 and Eurocode 2 regarding the embedding lengths for reinforcement steel. The End Coupler is designed and tested to assure a good embedding in concrete having a contact area equal to at least 9 times the rebar cross-section area, or 3 times the rebar diameter.
